The Best Advice to Stop Weeds?
Pre-emergent weed treatments! Between January 21st and February 14th, depending on the weather, we will be doing pre-emergent weed control and lawn fertilization. We recommend this pro-active treatment to help stop weeds before the seeds germinate and to boost the health of your lawn.
Last chance for a while to trim those Oaks! From February 1st to June 1st, trimming of Live Oaks is not recommended due to the heightened risk of Oak Wilt. If you need tree trimming, get it done in January.
Your plants also feel the cold! Mulching keeps them cozy warm. Now is a good time to mulch your plants to help protect their root systems from freezing conditions.
Strange Noises in the Attic?
If your water pipes and taps are exposed to the cold, then let your taps drip very slightly. This allows warmer water to move through your pipes and resist a freeze. If it’s cold enough, it can help resist a burst when the water starts freezing.
If you don’t have a functional freeze guard on your pool, then set your timers to start at 4 am through the coldest part of winter. On the night of a freeze, set your pool equipment to run through the night.
We can also help with a freeze sensor for your irrigation system. This helps save your plants and potentially anyone from slipping and falling on ice caused by a system operating during a freeze.
